V For Vendetta es una película estrenada en el 2005 y protagonizada por Natalie Portman y Hugo Weaving… Es una de mis películas favoritas y cuyo trasfondo socio-político está recreado de una manera inigualable.

En este monólogo les presentaré a Hugo Weaving:

Si no les parece conocido, Hugo Weaving es un actor que ha interpretado numerosos papeles, entre ellos el famoso Mr. Smith de la trilogía de Matrix y a Elrond en la trilogía del Señor de los Anillos. Actualmente, interpretó al villano de Capitán América y pronto lo veremos en pantalla grande, nuevamente como Elrond, en las entregas de The Hobbit. Además, ha prestado su voz en numerosas ocasiones, incluso para dar vida al famoso Megatrón en las adaptaciones cinematográficas de los Transformers.

El siguiente monólogo es uno excelente, razón por la cual la comparto con ustedes… Sería muy difícil traducirlo y perdería el sentido casi al 100%.

Les pondré el video y el texto más adelante… No se fíen de los «captions» de Youtube, distan de la realidad… Espero que les guste y que puedan encontrar el común denominador que enlaza cada palabra que sale de la boca del personaje.

Of course you can. I’m not questioning your powers of observation. I’m merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

-«Oh, right.»

But on this most auspicious of nights permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona.

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.
